The research theme of the team is focused on the study of the neural control of energy balance and more precisely of glycemia and food intake in preclinical models of obesity and type 2 diabetes.
We are interested in peripheral signals (metabolic and endocrine) that converge to the brain (mainly olfactory bulb and hypothalamus) and inform the organism of the energetic and nutritional status.
Our signal molecules of interest are mainly lipids (fatty acids, triglycerides and sphingolipids) and incretins.
We are also developing a theme focused on the study of peptides and microbial metabolites produced by the intestinal microbiota in the control of glycemia and food intake.
